WoodDuck Festival Prt.1

Back in June we all headed back to Fulda for their annual Woodduck Festival. We were excited to go back this year in particular because we knew that Kaylee would love all the festivities that go on during this weekend. It's also fun for me because I get to reconnect with friends that I don't get to see very often. We got in late Friday night and were too tired to go see the fireworks that they do, but on Saturday Kaylee got to do this..........
and some of this.....
a little more of this.... some fish riding....
and some spinning.
Needless to say that she loved, loved the rides and thankfully Papa had lots and lots of tickets for her. (On a side note, we went to the fair the other night and on the way there Kaylee was asking if Papa and Grammy would be there with some tickets for her. :)) After lots and lots of rides we walked through the park and Conner got to have his first experience in a swing. He got a huge kick out of it and would laugh every time he swung forward towards me. We have done lots more swinging since.
Next it was time to get ready for the parade. Fulda usually has a pretty good parade and this year was no different. Kaylee enjoyed everything except the firetrucks and the other big trucks because they are "too loud" for her. Conner could really care less. Here she is with Grammy and Papa before the parade.
And then we found her uncles in the parade. She was not too sure of them all dressed up like that though. (Either were we! :))
It's sure too bad that they didn't throw any candy during the parade! I don't know who had more fun, Papa or Kaylee, picking up the candy.
After the parade we ate supper and did a few more rides. The kids were definitely tired when they got home. On Sunday we had a nice lunch out at the campground where Gr. and Gr. Hawks met us. Then we headed back uptown to the park where they had some music and booths set up. Kaylee got to try hula-hooping during one the the songs and she was a little disappointed that she couldn't get it. But she kept on trying.
It was such a fun weekend! Prt. 2 will be coming soon. (You can click on the pictures to make them bigger if you can't see them very well).
